There is a banner outside my building, announcing that my neighborhood of Redhill Rise has been free of dengue fever for the past 15 weeks. The numbers one and five are sewn on, suggesting that they can be replaced each week as the length of fever free grows longer.
I’ve been living here for the last three months, and the numbers have never been changed.
Which means that my neighborhood has been “15 weeks free of dengue fever” for the past 15 weeks.
